August 25, 2008 Pictures of Seismic Acquisition

August 21, 2008 Manas presents Albanian prospect evaluations Manas releases today prospect evaluation summaries including volumetric estimations by Gustavson and Associates on Blocks A, B, D and E in Albania. The montages include an overview of the Albanian Geology.
In particular the central and southern parts show well developed structures which will be refined with seismic data currently acquired. New seismic data will for the first time prove the prospectivity in block A, which has significant gaps in seismic coverage.

August 28, 2008 Seismic acquisition is on track, Block A program extended 10 days after start of the seismic acquisition in Albania Erik Herlyn, Chief Operating Officer is reporting that the program is on track. The seismic crew from the Geological Institute of Israel (GII) acquired until today 20% of 2008 program. 94 line kilometers have been surveyed and access permits received from local land owners. Quality Control in charge Michel Faucouit from RPS Energy London is reporting no significant incidents.

October 22, 2008 First Phase finalized Manas Petroleum corporation reports, that the first Phase of 190.00 KM of 2-D seismic is finalized. The data produced in Blocks A (75.12 KM) and B (114.88 KM) were acquired by GII (Geophysical Institute of Israel).
GII used a four vibrator array for production (and one spare vibrator each weighs 30 tons). Test results and production showed that the best parameters were achieved using vibrator array distance of 40 meters from the first to the last vibrator, 4 Sweeps/VP and 12 seconds sweep len... (3 KB) |
